Production Based Theatre Workshop 2018

Antaheen Kalaskhetra organized a three-day Production Based Theatre Workshop from December 29 to December 31, 2018, with the primary aim of engaging and educating local youth in the realm of theatre production. The workshop was led by three distinguished theatre personalities: Sumanta Roy, Prosenjit Bardhan, and Sumit Kumar Roy, who served as mentors.
The workshop’s core objective was to impart training to the participating youths and equip them with essential theatrical skills. Over the course of the three days, a total of twenty-two participants took part. They were exposed to a diverse range of training exercises and activities. The focus areas of the workshop included intensive training in theatrical body movements, vocal exercises to enhance voice modulation and projection, and the significance of improvisation in contemporary theatre acting.
One of the workshop’s key highlights was its emphasis on choreography in theatre. Participants learned how choreography can effectively contribute to storytelling and enhance the overall impact of a theatrical production. Through practical sessions and hands-on experiences, the participants gained insights into integrating choreographic elements seamlessly into their performances.
The workshop facilitated a holistic learning experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. By involving local youth, the workshop not only aimed to nurture emerging talents but also contributed to the growth and development of the local theatre scene. The guidance and mentorship provided by eminent theatre personalities added immense value to the participants’ learning journey, ensuring that they were equipped with a well-rounded understanding of theatre production. Overall, the Production Based Theatre Workshop of 2018 successfully achieved its goal of training and involving local youth in the art of theatre production while fostering creativity, collaboration, and skill development.
